Privacy Matters — Why You Should Care

We live in an age where information defines influence. Those who have the power and control over data influence our lives.

Raze Network believes that privacy is a fundamental human right and that it’s worth fighting for. Because without privacy, you have neither freedom of self-expression nor control over your life.

When your personal data, from your daily spending to your private messages are accessible by third parties — it is scary. How much control do we have over your private life, if you don’t use tools to protect ourselves from mass surveillance? That’s the question…

“The primary reason for window curtains in our house, is to stop people from being able to see in. The reason we don’t want them to see in is because we consider much of what we do inside our homes to be private. Whether that be having dinner at the table, watching a movie with your kids, or even engaging in intimate or sexual acts with your partner. None of these things are illegal by any means but even knowing this, we still keep the curtains and blinds on our windows. We clearly have this strong desire for privacy when it comes to our personal life and the public.”

- Joshua in The Crypto Paper

The more we learn about privacy tools and utilize them, the bigger our area of influence becomes and the closer we’re to freedom — a life-changing miracle.

Privacy allows you to be yourself, to gain back your freedom of speech and thought — the core driving factors of self-expression and peaceful life. Beyond that, technology allows us to lead trustless, permissionless, and privacy-friendly lives as long as we keep being precautious.

With that said, Raze Network is thrilled to announce the start of our learning series about privacy! This is where we’ll share tools and techniques you can use to protect yourself against global mass surveillance.

About Raze Network

Raze Network is a Substrate-based cross-chain privacy protocol for the Polkadot ecosystem. It is built as a native privacy layer that can provide end-to-end anonymity for the entire DeFi stack. The Raze Network applies zkSNARKs to the Zether framework to build a second-layer decentralized anonymous module. It will then be imported as a substrate-based smart contract. The objective of Raze Network is to enable cross-chain privacy-preserving payment and trading systems while protecting the transparency of your assets and behaviors from surveillance.
