Raze Network Monthly Review #6

Hey Razers,

We can’t believe August is already over and time for another monthly review. Like always, we will review what happened in crypto, the privacy sector and with Raze Network.

Crypto On My Mind

The month of August was a very exciting one in the crypto space. July finished strong and those tail winds ran all the way through August. Bitcoin briefly made it over 50,000 USD and Ethereum almost hit 3,500 USD.

In NFTs, Ether Rocks seemed to be all the rage in August as sale prices skyrocketed. It looks like the NFT market is back and it might be about time for Raze to get our very own NFT. 😉

What Does Privacy Mean to You?

It looks like China is taking matters into their own hands with their PIPL (Personal Information Protection Law) privacy law which imposes new data handling requirements for global companies doing business in China. This new law will go into effect on November 1, 2021.

Do you know which Big Tech company stores most of your data? Looks like the top prize for the most amount of data stored from a company goes to Google, while the best company for your privacy is Apple! Check out this article from Security.org to find out the privacy rating for Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Apple and Google.

Back to Raze

August was another very eventful month for Raze Network. To start out the month, we released our second Transparency Report which outlined the updated token vesting schedule and the circulating supply of tokens.

We hired a new Marketing Director — Mr. Refungible, which we are thrilled to have on the team. We had a fireside chat with him when he started, where he outlined his initial plans for Raze and what he believes is holding back privacy adoption.

Mr. Refungible then went on to publish his first Privacy Series Post. In this series he will be educating the community on why you should care about your privacy, what information companies are collecting from you and how you can protect your self. Stay tuned for more!

Royale Finance marks our 39th partner today. It is always great to work with projects that care about privacy and Royale is a perfect example of that. We will help Royale to anonymize their users’ activities while protecting the transparency of their assets and behaviors from surveillance. Check out their platform if you have the chance!

On August 26th we had a discussion with Phala Network on the importance of privacy in DeFi. Phala is doing some great work with their privacy-preserving cloud computing services. Think AWS but decentralized and private 💪. We cant forget that chat was made possible by the great Polkadot DeFi Alliance! We can’t wait to have more like talks like this!

Finally, we wrapped up the month with our current production code release on GitHub. Check out our new Frontend and Full repo stacks. #TrustTheCode

Well that it a wrap! As always, we cant thank our fellow razers enough for their contribution and community support! Stay private Razers 😎

About Raze Network

Raze Network is a cross-chain privacy protocol for the entire DeFi ecosystem. It is built as a native privacy layer that can provide end-to-end anonymity for DApps. The Raze Network applies zkSNARKs to the Zether framework to build a second-layer decentralized anonymous module. It will then be imported as a substrate-based smart contract. The objective of Raze Network is to enable cross-chain privacy-preserving payment and trading systems while protecting the transparency of your assets and behaviors from surveillance.
